COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY COUNCIL

In 2008-09 the Riverhead Central School District established a Communications Advisory Council. See article on the CAC.

The objectives of the Communications Advisory Council are:CACsmall
    * To provide a forum for discussion in an effort to strengthen communication between school personnel, parents, students and residents;
    * To encourage and increase parental, student, and general community involvement in school affairs; and
    * To create a positive climate in our community that helps energize and enable a higher level of student achievement.

Inititiatives introduced by the CAC in 2009 included:
(1) A listing of Staff and Teacher email addresses and titles on each of the school's websites with access under "School Information" (Conflict Resolution Team). (2) An expanded "Did you know . . ." section in the District calendar explaining the function and role of the employees and stakeholders in the district (Function of the Organization Team). (3) An expanded list of contacts for district news releases and mailings, several samples of possible "official logos" for the district and a "vision or tag line" for district brochures, website, stationery, etc., a new District brochure, poster size displays of District programs. (Public Relations Team)

The Communications Advisory Council holds its meetings at 6:30 PM in the library at Riverhead High School. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2009. See POSTER.
