BOARD OF EDUCATION
Special Meeting – April 20, 2006
District Administration Office
PRESENT: President, Mrs. Lori Hulse Montefusco; Vice President, Mrs. Nancy G. Gassert; Mrs. Kathleen Berezny; and, Mrs. Mary Ellen Harkin.
ABSENT: Mr. Timothy Griffing; Mrs. Christine Prete; and, Mr. W. Brian Stark.
ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Paul R. Doyle and Mrs. Barbara O’Kula.
There were no other people in attendance.
President, Mrs. Hulse Montefusco, opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
A motion was made by Mrs. Gassert, seconded by Mrs. Berezny, to amend the following resolution to include the five (5) stated persons for the casting of their vote:
WHEREAS, there are five (5) vacancies on the Board of Cooperative Educational Services to be filled at the annual election to be held on April 20, 2006, and
WHEREAS, the five vacancies are for terms commencing on
July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2009, and
WHEREAS, the candidates listed in alphabetical order are as follows:
Pamela Betheil (Mount Sinai School District)
Stephen Dewey (Eastport/South Manor Central School District)
Chris Garvey (Hampton Bays School District)
Joseph LoShiavo (Patchogue-Medford School District)
Jeffrey Smith (Mattituck-Cutchogue School District)
NOW BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Riverhead Central School District may vote for up to five (5) candidates, provided that no more than one vote may be cast for each candidate:

The Board of Education of the Riverhead Central School District hereby casts its vote in the annual election of members of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services for the persons indicated as follows:

Chris Garvey
Joseph LoShiavo
Jeffrey Smith
Yes 4 No 0
Motion to Amend Carried.
A motion was made by Mrs. Harkin, seconded by Mrs. Gassert, to approve the following resolution as amended:
WHEREAS, there are five (5) vacancies on the Board of Cooperative Educational Services to be filled at the annual election to be held on April 20, 2006, and

A motion was made by Mrs. Berezny, seconded by Mrs. Harkin, to adjourn the meeting.
