ELECTION OF BOARD MEMBERS

AND BUDGET VOTE

May 16, 2006

6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Riverhead High School Gymnasium

 

Christopher Powers, Attorney, administered the oath of office to the following Inspectors of Election:

 

Inspectors of Election: Adele Abrahamson, Rosemary Colavito, Victoria Farruggia, Deborah Goroleski, Gail Kappenberg, Katherine Konkel, Deborah Masterson, Barbara Reichel, John Reichel, Josephine Sideratos, Maryann Soika and Gail Yeager (Chief Inspector of Election).

 

The following poll clerks were present:

 

Poll Clerks: Justyna Breitenbach, Jane Brown, Anita Conforti, Holly Chew, Dorothy Exum, Mary Hatcher, Dorothy Haupt, Barbara Jehle, Alice Kubacki, Irene Lachick, Frances Mapes, Dennis Mueller, Linda Mueller, Patricia Raynor, Mary Skiba and Toni Vodola.

 

Edward Doherty, Chairperson, opened the meeting at 6:03 a.m. and declared that the polls were open.

 

At 8:56 p.m., Mr. Doherty asked if all in attendance had voted. Mr. Doherty declared the polls closed at 9:01 p.m.

 

Mr. Doherty read the Inspector’s Report as presented by Gail Yeager, Chief Inspector of Election.

 

PROPOSITION I - BUDGET

Shall the Board of Education of the Riverhead Central School District be authorized to expend the sums set forth in the budget, $93,152,740, as proposed, during the 2006-2007 school year and levy the tax therefor?

PROPOSITION II – Capital Reserve Fund

 

Shall the Board of Education be authorized to establish a Capital Reserve Fund for the purposes of acquisition, design, planning, construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, preservation, development, improvement or modernization of school facilities in the following areas: roofs and masonry renovations, electrical systems renovations, heating, ventilations and air conditioning systems, sites and site work, paving and sidewalk renovations, locker room and stage renovations, window replacements and renovations to bring the school district in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act, and such fund shall be for a period not to exceed five ( 5 ) years, in an amount not to exceed ten million dollars

($10,000,000 ), and shall be financed from unallocated district funds, state aid for the purpose of capital improvements, donations, or an annual tax levy, not to exceed one million five hundred thousand ($1,500,000).

Mr. Doherty declared Proposition II-Capital Reserve Fund as

failed.

 

There are 64 absentee ballots included in the final numbers.
