RHS NJROTC WINS SOUTHOLD INVITATIONAL DRILL MEET

The Armed Platoon commanded by Cadet Daniel Snyder which took a first place trophy at the Southold High School Invitational Drill Meet. The RHS NJROTC unit won first place overall in the event.

(#0526 RIVERHEAD, New York - December 28, 2005) Shortly after their Annual Pass-In-Review, the Riverhead High School NJROTC Unit took first place overall of seven schools competing in the Southold High School Invitational Drill Meet. The unit won first place trophies for Armed Platoon commanded by Cadet Daniel Snyder, Unarmed Platoon commanded by Cadet Jonathan Gerle and the Academic Team (Team Captain Daniel Snyder). The unit won second place trophies for New Cadet Squad commanded by Cadet Kelly Savage and New Cadet Color Guard commanded by Cadet William Torres II. Varsity Color Guard Commanded by Cadet Ryan Arahamsen won third place. The unit also placed third in the Tug of War competition.

In the Individual Drill Event where over 150 cadets competed, Cadet Bridgette Adams placed 2nd overall, Cadet Meghan Lopez placed 4th overall and Cadet Julie Zilnicki placed 5th overall.
