Increase
in Aid Allocations to RCSD from the State
The News Review and the North Shore Sun
recently ran two excellent articles reviewing the increase
in district aid that each of the area schools received as
a result of the recent approval of school aid by the NY State
Legislature.
Riverhead realized an increase of 2.38%. The legislature's
budgeted amount is $358,737 more in aid than the previous
year; however, the district anticipated $100,000 more in aid
than the governor's budget allocated in their proposed 2004-05
budget.
To read more about the State figures, see "State aid
to ed inches up" by Tim Gannon in the News Review

and "Legislature approves more cash for schools"
in the North Shore Sun by Nicole Cotroneo at www.northshoresun.com

These two articles also provide an overview of the differences
in State Aid from district to district.
