Dear Parents,

The PTO Council is made up of officers of all 7 PTOs. All parents are welcome at meetings, but you must be an officer in a PTO to be a Council officer. PTO Council does not oversee any PTO. They are independent of each other. Council speaks to and supports all district PTOs. We support district cares and concerns, children and parents.

We come together for local budget and state aid issues. We support not only the school district, but the community as a whole. Council keeps the community educated by taping school board meetings. They can be viewed on Channel 22. We also sponsor an annual "Meet the Candidates Night" to keep the community informed. Most importantly, we support the children of Riverhead Central School District to ensure a safe, well-rounded education.

We work hard to make sure the children have what they need. We encourage attendance and participation at school board meetings. It is important to keep an open dialogue with school board members. We encourage the community to voice their cares and concerns and we will help give them a voice.

If you can't attend PTO meetings, Council meetings or School Board meetings, then get to know your PTO president or any parent that could keep you in the loop. Support your school! Support this district!

This year the District will be putting forward a building project and a bond will be presented for a vote in the near future. Stay in touch with your PTOs, so you can stay in the know. The District needs your support!

All PTOs hold their own elections of officers and have their own by-laws. Each PTO is unique and self supporting. These men and women respect and support all teachers and staff in their buildings. They give lots of love and time to the children.

Here at Council, we support and respect all parents, teachers and staff district wide, because in the end, we are all one community, one district and here for the same reason: children and education! Thank you for your support.
