Avenue is an annual winner of the Suffolk Reading Council Honor
School and a past recipient of a 21st
Century Grant. The school was also the recipient of
a "small class size" grant. Phillips was recognized
by NY State as a "high performing/gap closing school".

Night during which staff, students and community
members dress in pajamas and come together for bedtime stories,
skits and snacks.
Phillips celebrates fully the diversity of its students through
events like the school's Diversity Day and Black
History Month celebrations. They also care
for others outside their immediate community.
