"Catch the Wave"
RHS 2004 HOMECOMING


Homecoming concluded on a rainy but ultimately triumphant note this year.
The festivities started on October 12th with Spirit Week.
Students vied for most spirited throughout the week by
dressing up, wearing colors, decorating hallways, showing the most spirit during the pep rally
and working on their floats. Winners: Decorations - Sr. 1st, Pep Rally - Soph. 1st, Float - Sr. 1st,
The Senior class class won the overall competition.

This year's Parade Marshall was Bill Schulman, the Kiwanis "2004 Citizen of the the Year"
and owner of Calverton Links. The Homecoming King and Queen were
Meridith Goode and Sean Edenfield. Also in the Royal Court were: Bryan Moore and Diana Lombardi;
Nick Schmidt and Shaunice Faines; and David Jefferson and Ashley Bell.
The theme for this year’s Homecoming Parade
(Saturday, Oct. 16) was the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s:
Srs.-50s, Jrs.-40s, Sophs.-20s, Frosh.-30s.
The class floats depicted a (Srs.) 50s - Sock Hop complete with a dance routine; (Jrs.) 40s - Coca Cola's origin, WWII, movies; (Soph.) The Roaring 20s complete with flappers, prohibition and Jazz;
and the( Frosh.) 30s - with the birth of Monopoly and the building of the Suffolk Theater.
The seniors won best float, the juniors took second,
the freshman took third and the sophomores came in fourth.
There were 31 entries in the parade this year and according to its organizers,
Theresa Drozd and Pat Raynor, "The biggest and the best!"

There was a full slate of athletic events throughout the weekend,
which culminated with Sunday morning's football game.
The RHS Blue Waves football team defeated Deer Park High School 41 to 14. Go Blue Waves!
