WAY TO GO!
(October, 2006) RHS senior Jasmin Aceituno was recently recognized in Newsday’s (October 15) “Way to Go!” student column as the recipient of the Paul Sisson Memorial Scholarship, created by the Friends of the Riverhead Library. She received a $400 scholarship to help finance her piano lessons from Andrea Modugno at the East End Arts Council Community School of the Arts. Jasmin has studied piano there for six years and is an accomplished pianist. More <

Student Government and Homecoming
(October 2006) RHS’s Student Government’s first BIG task will be to help organize HOMECOMING 2006.

The Homecoming theme is HOLIDAYS.
HOMECOMING will begin with SPIRIT WEEK (October 23-28).
On SATURDAY, OCT. 28, the PARADE will step off at
12:30 PM down Main Street,
and the FOOTBALL GAME will follow at
1:30 PM at McKillop Field.

Commended Students
(October, 2006) Two RHS seniors, Tara McKenna and Erin Belfield, have been named Commended Scholars in the 2007 National Merit Scholarship Program. Only 34,000 of the 1.4 million juniors who complete the PSATs reach this level of competition. More <


NYSCAME All County and All State Winners Named
(October 2006) Six students have been chosen to attend the NYSCAME All-County Music Festival: Jeffrey Osarczuk, Justin Camp, Alice Falcone, Lauren Rowland, Ryan Abrahamsen and Thomas Kozakiewicz. One student from RHS was selected to attend All-State this year: Jeffrey Osarczuk. Jeff is a sax player and a member of the band and jazz band.
