(December
17, 2007 – Riverhead, NY) The RHS N.J.R.O.T.C. under the direction
of its instructors Lt. Col. Peter G. McCarthy and Chief Gunner’s
Mate James R. Finch and under the command of Commanding Officer Carissa
Woerner report that the Riverhead NJROTC Drill Team competed with 10
schools at the Southold Drill Meet on Saturday, December 15th, and performed
exceptionally well.
The following results were achieved:
Senior Division Unarmed Platoon – 1st Place
Senior Division Armed Platoon – 2nd Place
Senior Division Color Guard – 2nd Place
Senior Division Personnel Inspection Team – 3rd Place
1st Year Cadet Squad – 2nd Place
Two-Man Armed Exhibition – 1st Place
Tug of War Team – 1st Place
Individual Drill Competition (250 cadets) – Cadet William Torres
II – 1st Place
This Friday, December 21st our cadets will be working with the Rotary
after school in the High School cafeteria preparing 200 Christmas food
baskets and assisting in delivery to the needy.
