Russell Kratoville Named National Merit Finalist     

Russell Kratoville has
been named a Finalist
in the 2003
Competition for a
National Merit Scholarship.

As a Finalist, Russell will now compete with 14,999 other Finalists chosen from a group of 16,100 Semifinalists, who will compete for 8,000 National Merit Scholarships.

Russell carries a 105.8-weighted grade point average and is ranked #1 in the senior class. He scored a 1530 on his SAT with a perfect 800 in Math and a 730 in Verbal.

Russell is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Foreign Language Honor Society. He is also captain of the varsity tennis and golf teams and was a recipient of the Suffolk Zone Award, which recognizes outstanding scholar/athletes. Other activities Russell is involved in include the Outdoors Club, Mentathletes and Varsity Stage Band. Russell is also a lector at St. John’s Catholic Church.

Next fall he plans to attend the US Naval Academy to pursue a major in aerospace engineering and computer science. Russell is also a semifinalist for the Coca-Cola Scholarship.
