A
BIKER WITH A MESSAGE
When Chris Poulos speaks, kids listen!
Chris’
website (www.chrispoulos.com)
describes him this way, “Chris Poulos is a professional
bicycle stunt rider, motivational speaker and author.
He is the 2002 King of the Flatland Champion and the 1991
World Champion. He is a veteran of over 400 competitions
and 10,000 live performances worldwide. He also has a
Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and a
Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Most importantly, Chris has
the ability and experience to educate as he entertains.”
The kids he talks to describe him this way, “He’s
great!” “Chris rocks!”
Chris Poulos recently rode around and around the gymnasium
at the Riverhead Middle School and spoke to the students
about the importance of being a decent person. With stunts
interspersed throughout his presentation and opportunities
to get involved in the act, the students stayed riveted
and attentive throughout the 45 minute presentation with
its messages of anti-bullying, anti-violence, friendship,
self-esteem, positive thinking, teamwork, goal setting,
education, success and safety.
His character education message and his own personal history
are communicated in a very witty and honest way, while
music, audience participation and amazing stunts on his
little BMX bike bring it home.
"Chris’ bike rally with its character building
message is a unique and very effective way to stress all
of the character education concepts that the schools work
all year to convey to their students, and he’s fun
to watch," states RMS principal Andrea Pekar.
