New
Elementary
Report Card
Reflects the New York State
Standards & Assessments
After months of dedicated work completed by K-4 teachers,
the new report card made its debut in April. This
report documents student progress in all academic areas as
measured against standards. A literacy continuum provides
the basis upon which parents can track their child’s
progress in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Expectations
for moving across the continuum are clearly communicated
so that parents and teachers can work together to encourage
and support student achievement.
The report card was initially introduced at PTO meetings,
special events, and at the April Parent-Teacher conference
day prior to the first distribution. It is the intent
of the district to provide parents with meaningful feedback
regarding their child’s progress based on expected
performance related to the standards.
