Reminder to parents and students: Free homework tutoring at Riverhead Free Library is scheduled for Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m. Mark your calendar for the following dates: Oct. 2, 16, 23 and 30, and Nov. 6, 13 and 20. Students in grades 4-12 who reside in the Riverhead Central School District are welcome. Parents are responsible for transportation. Registration is requested, so call 727-3228, ext. 132. The Friends of the Library is sponsoring this worthwhile program and a great big thanks for all they do for the library and community.

The Dolan DNA Learning Center (DNALC) is the world's first science center devoted entirely to genetics education and is an operating unit of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, an important center for molecular genetics research. The DNALC extends the Laboratory's traditional research and postgraduate education mission to the college, precollege, and public levels.
