New Principal at Roanoke

Debra Rodgers has been chosen as the new principal at the Roanoake Avenue School. (Dot Trondle retired after serving as principal at the school for 14 years.)

"I'm very excited about being chosen as Principal of the Roanoke Avenue School," states Ms. Rodgers. "The school has an excellent reputation and everyone has been very welcoming and collegial."

Ms. Rodgers is a resident of Aquebogue and is a lifelong resident of the Town of Riverhead. She grew up in Wading River, graduated from Shoreham-Wading River High School, and was most recently an assistant principal at the new Eastport-South Manor High School. Prior to that she had been an assistant principal and an acting principal at the Eastport Elementary School. She has been an educator for over 15 years.

Ms. Rodgers is looking forward to "continuing excellence at the Roanoke Avenue School." Her motto is "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will land among the stars."
