THINK SPRING!

      It's hard to believe that spring is around the corner, and we are leaving the Ice Age behind. How we are looking forward to the sweet fragrances of newly blossomed flowers and the lovely chirping of the many beautiful birds that call Long Island their home!
     With spring also come the pesky ticks! That is why we had a LYMES DISEASE presentation for our children.
     Again, this year, back by popular demand, we are having LIFE TOUCH PICTURES take pictures of the chidren on Thursday, March 25th. The money we receive back from Life Touch will buy many nonfiction and fiction books for the classrooms.
     As you may know, our district report card committee has been hard at work designing a new report card that reflects the balanced literacy thrust in the district. We discussed the report card at our March 15th PTO Meeting. See the next DISTRICT newsletter for a sample of the report card.
     KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION will be administered districtwide, the week of April 19th. These tests help us know where we have to work harder in order for all students to be successful.
