Unique and Innovative Physical Education Offerings

The Personal Wellness class is designed to give students the knowledge to take control of personal fitness and create a healthy lifestyle.  It is different from our traditional Physical Education class in that we concentrate more on different workouts instead of competitive sports.  Our activities include aerobics, cardio kickboxing, yoga, pilates, stretching, free weights, weighted balls and bars, stability balls, functional training, Zumba, step aerobics partner workouts, self defense and other similar workouts. Students learn about the principles of exercise, the anatomy of the human body and how diet and nutrition affect their personal training goals.  >More

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RHS VARSITY BOYS TEAM ON A GREAT SEASON SO FAR! The BLUE WAVES (11-3, 8-2 overall) are still near the top of League III.
                                  From Newsday (January 25, 2013) --
"Riverhead (11-3, 8-2) enjoyed a big rebounding edge (against East Islip), but it wasn't because of a size advantage. Cheatom is just a smidge taller than six-feet and Tolliver is 6-2. Yet both controlled the glass with aggressiveness and quick-jumping ability that produced numerous second-shot opportunities."

"As a team, we play a lot bigger than we are," coach John Rossetti said. "We definitely need the Riverhead fans to come out for our game against Centereach, Tuesday, January 29, at 5:45PM, to cheer the Waves on."
