Middle
School Honor Concert Band Festival Winners
 (
November 2006) Two RMS musicians, Andrew Plattner and Ernest Mc-Millan,
are among the 97 students, who have been chosen from 230 applicants,
to participate in the New York State Band Directors’ Association’s
Middle School Honor Concert Band Festival in Syracuse, NY in early
March. Andrew, who plays clarinet, received a perfect score on his
level 4 NYSSMA solo. Ernest received 27 out of a possible 28 points
on his trombone solo.

Jazz Festival
The Riverhead JV Jazz Band and the RMS Show Choir (130 7th & 8th
graders) participated in the All-County Jazz Day in Sayville in the
2005-06 school year. They saw a production of Les Miserables at the
Creative Minnistries Performing Arts Center and performed three pieces
