The ceremony included Board members, Ann Cotten-DeGrasse, Greg Meyer, and Sue Koukounas; a member of the CPR Committee, Robert Brown; Superintendent Nancy Carney; representatives from Triton Construction; Phillips Avenue Principal Debra Rodgers, and the first group of students who visited the new library on opening day.

Focus on Staff
(May 13, 2013) On Wednesday, May 8, 2013, National School Nurse Day, we paused to honor the district's school nurses, who make a difference in the lives of children every day in our schols. In just 15 minutes, a camera can capture just a few of the many roles of a school nurse which help improve students’ health and well being. School nurses are called on to monitor the health of our children throughout the day, administering medications sent from home, keeping records, instructing teachers about allergies, administering EpiPens and asthma inhalers, conducting vision and hearing tests, and checking benchmarks in weight and height. They also act as a reassuring presence in the lives of youngsters, who have all kinds of emotional needs and concerns. In addition, school nurses are a communication link and a source of information to parents about their children. ABOVE: Barbara Salmiery, the school nurse at Phillips. >More
NJROTC News

(March 2, 2013) Riverhead NJROTC competed with four other Navy JROTC and two Marine Corps JROTC Units in a Drill Meet at Freeport High School on Saturday, March 2nd, and came away with 1st Place Overall. The Riverhead NJROTC Unit remains undefeated this school year and has now won 1st Place Overall in all three of their Drill Meets.
Consistently good performances across the board in all events enabled Riverhead to garner the most points and win the meet championship.
This Drill meet really showed the depth of quality performers on the Drill Team as many cadets competed for the first time this year and did an outstanding job. The next drill meet is coming up fast so the unit must turn right around and get ready for the North Rockland competition on March 16th. >More
