We
want to thank you, our parents, for your ongoing support of our
school. We welcome and appreciate you as partners in the education
of our students. The solid home/school connection that we have
here is one of the main reasons why the State of New York has
recently recognized us as a “high achieving” school.

Message from Mr. Enos and Ms. Grim
As far as our building goals for 2012-13 are concerned, we are
emphasizing the following:
Increasing student achievement in a supportive atmosphere. We have solid results, but there is still much to be done, which includes analyzing Riley’s progress to accentuate our collective strengths and areas that need to be addressed.
-
Consistent K-4 implementation of the Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project as part of a comprehensive balanced literacy approach, which includes Fundations at the K-3 level and Words Their Way in 4th grade.
-
Incorporating the latest educational technology, as seen in the addition of SMART Boards in every Riley classroom, which is the result of both RCSD and parent support.
-
Continued character education with an emphasis on community service, which has become a hallmark of the Riley experience. This includes building relationships in a positive, supportive school culture, which is a source of pride to all of us.
-
Continued implementation of the Uniform Code of Dress policy in all K-4 buildings which extended to K-6 last year. Additional information can be accessed by going to the following link: Uniforms.
-
Expanding our partnerships with the Riley community
-
Maintaining a safe learning environment
