The Cody
Center will run an East End Sibling Support Group based on the SibShops
model for children with siblings who have special needs. Groups will
meet for approximately ten weeks at the Stony Brook Southampton Campus.
Children ages 8 to 16 are eligible for the program for which there is
no charge. Projected start dates for groups are July 27 and September
7 (Sundays- 11:30 am). Please contact the social worker who facilitates

A great benefit from the National Forestry & Wildlife Division.
You may or may not know about. It is a free lifetime access pass for
any person with a disability or for the caregivers of a person with
a disability. It allows access to ALL national parks for free.
All that is required is a letter from the physician stating the disability
and you take it to your local National Forestry & Wildlife Division
to get the pass. Each pass will admit up to 4 adults and children under

C-SPAN StudentCam
C-SPAN StudentCam is an annual documentary competition that encourages
students to think seriously about issues that affect our communities
and our nation. C-SPAN StudentCam invites students to identify a current
political topic of interest and produce a short (up to ten minute) video
documentary which creatively explores an issue while integrating C-SPAN
programming. The competition is open to students in grades 6 - 12. For

SMART KIDS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Nominations for the fourth annual Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities
Youth Achievement Award are due January 31, 2008. This year's $1,000.00
award recognizes the great strengths of young people with LD and/or
ADHD. The award will be given to a student (high school or younger)
with documented learning disabilities and/or ADHD who has demonstrated
initiative, talent and determination resulting in a notable accomplishment
in any field-including art, science, math athletics, or community service.
