Weekend Respite Program at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Center Moriches, is once again offering its weekend
respite program, for campers with physical and developmental
disabilities between the ages of 6 and 21. The following dates are
available: Nov. 14-16; Dec. 19-21; Jan 16-18; Feb. 20-22; March 20-22;
April 17-19; May 15-17; and June 12-14.
Check-in will be on Fridays, at 8:00p.m.; check-out Sundays, at 3:00p.m.
During the weekend, children can enjoy arts and crafts, music, games,
movies and walks through the woods. The program also benefits the
parents by giving them a break from the very demanding responsibilities
of being their child's caregiver. The cost is $350 per weekend; 14

November 21 - 2nd Annual Career and Technical School Fair 9am-3pm Brentwood Campus of Suffolk Community College, Sports, Health and Exhibition Complex
The event will provide valuable information to students with disabilities, general education students, parents and teachers on one and two year certification/degree in technical education programs for students transitioning from High School. This fair will assist students with career planning and will give the student an opportunity to meet with representatives of technical/vocational schools. Representatives from VESID and Job Corps will also be in attendance. Target Audience: Students with disabilities, general education students, parents, teachers and school counselors.

Presentation will provide parents of students with disabilities
fundamental information about Transition Planning and its implications
for students' post-secondary success. Information will be given on how
to write a quality IEP that addresses measurable post-secondary goals in
the areas of employment, education and community living.
