TOP 15 of the Class of 2004

The TOP 15 students in the class of 2004 at Riverhead High School have been chosen. The students are listed according to their rank with their current choice for a major. As the information becomes available, we will add the colleges they will be attending in the Fall. Congratulations to these outstanding RHS students!

It’s interesting to note that at least 11 of the Top 15 students in the class of 2004 are planning to major in a science-related field! Many of the young women in this picture also participated in the Women in Science & Engineering Program (W.I.S.E.).

Valedictorian
Jessica Lamont

was recently named the Senior Science Student of the Year at RHS and is the recipient of the Brown University Book Award for excellence in English. Jessica has been part of a group of students studying the restoration and management of the pine barrens. She presented her research on Biodiversity Decline at the National Science Symposium in Garden City.
       Jessica is a member of W.I.S.E., C.A.P., Mentathletes, President of the National Latin Honor Society, enjoys art and music and is on the Varsity Girl’s Track & Soccer teams. Jessica plans to combine her love of Latin, history and science with a major in Anthropology / Archaeology.

Christine Talmage

hasn’t missed a day of school in 10 years!
     Christine is a photographer and a scholar with an amazing list of extracurricular activities.
      Each summer for several years, Christine has taken a class at a college in one of her interest areas. Last year she attended a Forum on Medicine. During previous summers, she took classes that reflect her interest in medicine and animals.
      Christine is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Foreign Language Honor Society. As a junior, one of her photographs won the East End H.S. Art Competition. She is a CAP Peer Leader and works for her family’s Agribusiness. Christine plans to attend college and major in Pre-Med/Biochemistry.

1300 Club

Seven seniors scored a 1300 or higher on their SATs
and are now recognized as members of the “1300 Club” for their achievement.
