Title I and Breakfast & Lunch Benefits at Phillips Avenue
The Phillips Avenue Elementary School is classified as a Title I school. This classification is based on the number of students that qualify for our free and/or reduced breakfast and lunch. Title I schools receive additional money from the NY State Education Department to support student learning. At the October PTO meeting we will present more information regarding our Title I status.
Also, Phillips Avenue Elementary School qualifies as a “Community Eligibility Provision” (CEP) school through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Community Eligibility means our school will now provide meal service (breakfast and lunch) to all students at no charge, regardless of economic status. This means that your child will no longer need to bring money to school for breakfast or lunch. There will continue to be a charge for Ice Cream. Also see the Community Cafe
