Smart Technology Helps Students Learn
To immediately assess the knowledge of their fourth-grade students during a lesson, two teachers at Aquebogue Elementary School have started integrating smartphone technology that engages students.

After nearly every unit of study, the teachers, Marnie Busdeker and Lisa Hudgins, collect the real-time assessment data using an app, called Plickers.

As part of the app, students respond to questions about the lesson by holding up coded cards that the teachers scan from the front of the classroom with their smartphones. Within seconds, the teachers can view statistics from their phone on how many students answered the questions correctly or incorrectly.

Based on the responses of students, the teachers then adjust the lesson at hand accordingly.  #ThisisRiverhead
