Aquebogue’s Science Fair Stars

Students at Riverhead Central School District’s Aquebogue Elementary School exhibited their knowledge of science at the school’s annual science fair. 

The event featured a variety of science projects by students in grades K-4, with topics related to melting ice, slime eggs and gummy bears.  

In order from first through third place by grade level, this year’s winners were: kindergarten – Julien Michaels, Peter Sargent and Lila Corwin; first grade – Ty Haugland (first), Jason Hubbard and Addison White (tied for second), and Ellie Rebentisch and Arianna Salcedo (tied for third); second grade – Braedyn MacLeod, Madeline Schmidt and VonTrice Major; third grade – Landon Zaleski (first), Quinn Stromski and Julianna Kramer (tied for second), and Julianna Kramer and Casey Hubbard (tied for third); and fourth grade – Dillon Zaleski, Aaliyah Williams and Antonia Cederna.             

These students now have the opportunity to compete in Brookhaven National Laboratory’s annual Elementary School Science Fair on May 5.
