In conjunction with the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, Riverhead High School held a job fair on April 26 where students could meet with managers from a variety of local businesses and apply for jobs.

“This was a great opportunity to bring members of our community together with students,” said Chamber of Commerce President Bob Kern. “The business professionals were very impressed by the students and the number of applications they received. A number of students were hired on the spot.”

Students also heard from Lisa Lindsay, Maryhaven Center for Hope job developer with transition services at Riverhead High School. She spoke about skills associated with obtaining a job, including making a good first impression, dressing appropriately and interviewing well.
