Carlos Velasquez Rivera, a sixth-grader at Pulaski Street Elementary School in the Riverhead Central School District, has been selected as a winner in the Suffolk County Anti-Cyberbullying Campaign poster contest.

Rivera earned this distinction after designing a colorful poster in class with the slogan, “Stop hating, start loving.”

The sixth-grader, who says he enjoys drawing, especially landscapes, will be honored with the other contest winners at a ceremony held at the Suffolk County Legislature Office in Smithtown on May 22. His entry will also be displayed in the Suffolk County Executive’s Office.
