Members of the Riverhead High School Upstanders Club spread laughter, smiles and messages of kindness to Riverhead Middle School students on June 7 as part of a peer educator program.

Throughout the day, the Upstanders facilitated relationship-building games and activities with middle school students during home and career classes. All of the activities included messages of acceptance, tolerance and kindness.

Prior to visiting with the middle schoolers, the Upstanders received peer educator training from John Martin, senior health educator with the Suffolk County Department of Health.

“I am so proud of the Upstanders,” said club adviser Elizabeth Morse. “They have come so far this year.”
