Middle school, high school and Pulaski Street Elementary School students in the Riverhead Central School District’s Scientific Computing program toured Brookhaven National Laboratory on March 27 to see how computing skills are applied in the real world. During the tour, led by educational programs administrator Scott Bronson, the students learned about internship opportunities at the lab and visited the Northeast Solar Energy Resource Center and National Synchrotron Light Source II. As part of the district program, the students work with BNL technology architect David Biersach on a weekly basis to improve their scientific computing skills.
