To provide male students in the Riverhead Central School District with positive male role models, Superintendent Dr. Aurelia Henriquez hosted a Superintendent’s Circle, “Young Men on the Rise,” on April 18 at Riverhead High School.

During the event, male students from Riverhead High School, Riverhead Middle School and Pulaski Street Elementary School heard from several prominent male community members, including Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr.; Luis Vazquez, president of the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Marcial Gallimore, president and CEO of Transformative Educational Development Services; Riverhead High School social worker Antonio Diaz; and Riverhead Middle School teacher Darren Dunn.

Each of the speakers inspired the students to think about their futures and persevere despite adversity. Students were also encouraged to ask questions and speak their minds.
