Riverhead High School’s Blue Waves fall athletic teams have accomplished great feats on the field so far this season. Here is a quick look at their achievements: 

• The boys varsity golf team made Riverhead High School history by earning the title of Co-League Champs. Six players have advanced to the county level.  
 • The girls varsity field hockey team earned the eighth seed for the field hockey playoffs. It won the first-round playoff game and has advanced to the second round. 
• The varsity football team is currently 4-2.  
• For the second year in a row, the girls varsity cross-country team earned the title of Co-League Champs. It has advanced to the divisional finals and state qualifiers. 
• The girls varsity tennis team earned the league championship title with a 11-1 season. The last time the varsity tennis team earned a league championship was in 1991.  
 • Brooke Davies, an eighth grade independent swimmer, has qualified for the Suffolk County Champion Swim Meet. She will compete on Nov. 9 at the SCCC Brentwood campus. This will be her second time at counties. She qualified last year as a seventh grader.
