Students at Aquebogue Elementary School in the Riverhead Central School District recently attended an exciting virtual assembly hosted by the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. During the assembly, sponsored by the school’s parent-teacher organization, environmental educator Cara Fernandes introduced the students to various birds of prey, including owls and hawks. The students observed the animals and asked questions in real time as they learned about their eating and sleeping habits and their natural habitats.
