Live-brary Homework Help

Live ONLINE homework help is available to all Library cardholders via the cooperative Suffolk Homework Help service. Tutors are available seven days per week, 2 pm to 11 pm. Cardholders may use the service in the Library or from home.

Local Schools Required Reading

Local schools’ required reading lists are available in The Loft. The Library makes every effort to offer multiple copies of these items, in support of local curricula.

Riverhead Community Awareness Program, Inc.

(CAP) is a non-profit community-based organization founded in 1979 by volunteers to address growing problems caused by alcohol and other drugs within the Riverhead schools and community. Today, CAP is the major provider of drug and alcohol prevention and counseling services in the Riverhead Central School District.

Council for Unity

Council for Unity has a history of successfully promoting inter-group relations and reducing violence in schools and communities by implementing programs in leadership development, mentoring, career, college guidance and gang prevention.

East End Art Center

The East End Arts Council is dedicated to bringing the arts into the lives of children. Scholarships based on financial need are available in all areas of study and camp.

Cornell Cooperative Extension

The mission of the Cornell Cooperative Extension educational system is to enable people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and research knowledge to work. In Suffolk County, specific program areas are dedicated to the achievement of this mission according to the particular environmental, industrial and social aspects of our county.

Public programs for organized groups, adults and children focus on themes that reflect Suffolk’s rich cultural heritage. School programs cover a broad range of topics designed to supplement the classroom study of local history. Advanced registration is required for these programs.

Dolan DNA Learning Center
The Dolan DNA Learning Center (DNALC) is the world’s first science center devoted entirely to genetics education and is an operating unit of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, an important center for molecular genetics research. The DNALC extends the Laboratory’s traditional research and postgraduate education mission to the college, precollege, and public levels. Several educational options are available there, including DNA Saturdays and DNASummer Camp.
