To mark Veterans Day, fourth grade students at Riley Avenue Elementary School in the Riverhead Central School District wrote thank-you notes to local veterans.
The thoughtful letters contain messages of thanks for serving the country, as well as pictures featuring the American flag. All of the letters are on display in the school’s main hallway and will be delivered to area veterans on Nov. 11.
