Four Riverhead Cross Country Runners Named All-League

Blue Waves Recognized for Outstanding Regular Season Performances

RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2025)—Four Riverhead High School cross country student-athletes have received All-League honors for their exceptional performances at dual meets throughout the regular season. Seniors Katrina Sucharski and Lester Soyos, junior Darryl Austin, and sophomore Julia Chycherska were recognized for their remarkable achievements this season. Julia is now a three-time All-League cross country runner.

“We are incredibly proud of how committed Katrina, Lester, Darryl, and Julia have been to their training from day one,” said Riverhead High School boys head cross country coach Tyler Lobenhofer. “Their success has flourished from a foundation of summer training, consistent effort, and dedication to every race. Their All-League honors are a testament to the discipline, teamwork, and pride that define Riverhead’s cross country program.”

The Blue Waves will compete next at the Section XI state qualifiers on November 6th, 2025 at Sunken Meadow State Park. The boys cross country team—represented by the top seven varsity runners—will race in the boys team division, while Julia Chycherska qualified to run in the girls individual division.
