Kindness was key at Riley Avenue Elementary School as students across grade levels participated in a plethora of activities as part of the weeklong Great Kindness Challenge.
As part of the week’s activities, students participated in special themed days, quotes of the day and activities of the day which all focused on spreading kindness throughout the school community.
Additionally, members of the fourth grade student counsel led by adviser Melissa Haupt conducted presentations in classrooms throughout the building about community circles. The fourth grade presenters read the book “The Circles All Around Us” by Brad Montague to the classes they visited and then assisted students in completing worksheets which explored the different levels of community circles, such as family, friends, extended family and community.
