The Riverhead Central School District is pleased to announce that the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) PILOT payments for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years have been received. LIPA has made good on the $5,326,971.49 total of their agreement, of which $5,135,948.43 is for the District, $190,105.42 is for Riverhead Free Library and $917.64 is for the Baiting Hollow Free Library. We will send the portion for the libraries to their administrators. The PILOT payments were accounted for in the proposed 2023-2024 proposed budget approved by the community this past May and in the reduction made in the proposed 2022-2023 real property tax levy made in October 2022. These funds will be used to support our programs, services and operational activities, enhancing experiences and opportunities for our students.
