Please note: The March 26 rally in Albany has been canceled.
Did you know that Riverhead Central School District receives less than 55% of the Foundation Aid funding it is entitled to?
Foundation Aid, a cornerstone of the Education and Budget Reform Act of 2007, is unrestricted state aid provided on a formula basis for every New York State school district.
The Riverhead Central School District provides enriching opportunities for our children by seeking out grants and creating clever solutions to make up for the shortfall in funding from Foundation Aid – but the District shouldn’t have to. We, as parents, teachers, leaders and advocates, can work to fix this funding inequity.
The Riverhead community came together in record numbers on Saturday, January 18, 2020 to speak out and advocate for our children and the Harmed Suburban Five (Ossining, Westbury, Riverhead, Glen Cove and Port Chester). We worked together, called and visited with our elected officials, made numerous pleas to Governor Andrew Cuomo and are visiting Albany on March 26, 2020. Our work is not done and your support is needed!
