The Suffolk School Library Media Association has awarded a $500 grant for project-based learning and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) initiatives to the Pulaski Street School library in the Riverhead Central School District.
Amelia Estevez Creedon, Pulaski Street’s library media specialist, was presented with the grant at a meet-and-greet held in Huntington Station on Oct. 19. Estevez Creedon had applied for the grant earlier in the school year.
The library will use the grant funds to purchase technological tools for fifth-grade students. The technology will support and encourage hands-on learning across the curricula, from art and music to science, technology and math.
