Summer Programs

HCARE Summer Institute

The Stony Brook University HCARE Summer Institute is being offered again during the last week of June to high school students (in grades 9 through 12) at no cost to students. This year, the students will meet with Stony Brook University healthcare professors online for four days and have the option for an in-person visit at Stony Brook University for one day. As in years past, this summer program includes college readiness and awareness of healthcare professions through clinical faculty presentations—including resume building, mock interviewing and success for life skills.

The online registration deadline is June 16, 2023.

Marine Science Enrichment Program

Please be advised about the WS BOCES Marine Science Enrichment Program (MSEP). The application deadline is Monday, May 8th. For those of you who do not know, MSEP is a summer residential program that is completely free of charge to students. This year, the camp will begin on July 10th and end on July 14th. Throughout camp, students will engage in authentic marine science field excursions all over Long Island’s East End. For this program, preference is given to Suffolk County students receiving the National School Lunch Program and entering grade 11 in the Fall of 2024. Depending on the number of applications received, students from Nassau Country and students entering grade 12 in the fall of 2024 will also be considered.
