Pulaski Street School Gains 26 New Peer Mediators

March 11, 2022

Outstanding student achievement was recently celebrated at Pulaski Street Elementary School as 26 peer mediators were sworn in to their new roles within the building after the completion of a program led by Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers, in collaboration with elementary guidance counselors Michelle Chiarulli and Nicole Gigante.

Before a group of distinguished guests, the students were sworn in by a representative from Legislator Al Krupski’s office and received certificates recognizing their commitment to learning their helpful, new skills.

In alignment with the district’s focus on restorative practices, the students are now prepared to assist their peers with relationship development, communication skills and low-level conflict mediation to work towards lasting resolutions.
