Welcome to the Universal Pre-kindergarten home page!
Universal Pre-Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-2027 school year begins February 9, 2026. The program provides fully funded, full-day pre-kindergarten sessions five days per week.
A child must reside within the Riverhead School District and turn four years old on or before December 1st or who will otherwise be first eligible to enter public school kindergarten within the following year.

The District will conduct a lottery on April 30, 2026
To participate in the lottery, your child must be registered by March 30, 2026

You will need to come to our registration office at 700 Osborn Ave., Riverhead, NY. 11901, to complete the registration process. Click here to make an appointment with our Registration Department after February 8th, or you may contact us at ppsreg@g.riverhead.net or 631-369-6706.
The following documents are required to register a student:
- Student Documentation (1 of the following): Birth Certificate, Record of Baptism, or Passport (other documents may be considered if none of these are available).
- Student’s Current Physical and Immunization Records
- Photo Identification of Parent/Guardian
- Proof of Guardianship (if applicable)
- 3 Proof of Residency: (Please refer to the chart below for examples of proof of residency)

- Student Information Form (You do not need this form if you complete our online registration)
