Riverhead Board of Education Leadership Sworn In
Jasmine Corwin, Erica Murphy, Cynthia Redmond Begin Three-Year Terms
RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK (JULY 2026)—At the Riverhead Central School District’s Board of Education reorganization meeting, leadership was sworn in and welcomed the 2026–2027 school year. Board of Education members Jasmine Corwin, Erica Murphy, and Cynthia Redmond took their oaths of office for their three-year terms, beginning on July 1, 2026 and concluding on June 30, 2029. Ms. Murphy was elected Board of Education president, and Ms. Redmond was elected vice president.
In addition, Dr. Robert Hagan was sworn in as superintendent for the 2026–2027 school year, and Dawn Bozuhoski took her oath of office as district clerk for the new school year.
“Our District achieved remarkable growth and success in the 2025–2026 school year, ranging from academic milestones to art, music, and athletic accomplishments to career-building opportunities,” said Dr. Hagan. “I thank our exceptional Board of Education for their leadership and support of the initiatives and programming that made this excellence possible, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside them toward a fantastic 2026–2027 school year.”
During the district’s May Board of Education election, Erica Murphy and Cynthia Redmond were re-elected, and Ms. Corwin was elected to the board for the first time, with all three winning three-year terms. As part of the election, Dr. Julio Gonzalez won a term running from May 19, 2026 to June 30, 2027 as well.
Board of Education President Erica Murphy is a resident of Manorville and has two children attending the Riverhead Central School District. She is currently employed as a senior staff accountant at a public accounting firm and holds a Master of Business Administration in Accounting. She is also a retired New York Air National Guard senior master sergeant with 20 years of service and previously served as treasurer for the Riley Avenue Elementary School Parents Association.
Board of Education Vice President Cynthia Redmond lives in Aquebogue and is the mother of two Riverhead High School graduates. She is a prevention supervisor at Riverhead Community Awareness Program, Inc. and possesses over 30 years of experience working with children and in family services. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University.
Board of Education Trustee Jasmine Corwin is a nearly 20-year Aquebogue resident with three children in the Riverhead Central School District. Over the past nine years, Ms. Corwin actively served the district in numerous parent-teacher organization leadership roles, including president, vice president, and secretary. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from SUNY Oneonta and has built meaningful relationships with students, families, teachers, and administrators through volunteer work and advocacy for positive school experiences.
