Riverhead Central School District Hosts Personal Wellness Night
District Invites Students and Families to Evening Focused on Improving Quality of Life
RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2022) — Riverhead Central School District’s Parent University will be hosting Personal Wellness Night on Thursday, October 27th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Riverhead High School. All students and families are invited to this informational and engaging evening.
“In addition to the expertise of our faculty and staff, we are partnering with numerous community organizations to demonstrate the importance of personal wellness for our District and its families,” said Riverhead Central School District Superintendent Dr. Augustine E. Tornatore. “These partners consist of local farms, physical fitness organizations and wellness centers.”
The event will include Dr. Roxanne Carfora as the keynote speaker, as well as workshops presented by District staff members in a closely-connected instructional setting focused on wellness subtopics. Community athletics, affordable farm-to-table food programs, at-home exercise alternatives and choices, mental health and wellness and healthy eating options are all workshop subtopics.
“The goal of this event is to send our students and families home with an enriched thought process on how they plan to turn words into actions to achieve an overall better quality of life,” said Dr. William Galati, Executive Director of Secondary Education, Grants and Student Outcomes. “This means improving on physical, mental and social levels.”
