Riverhead High School Announces Top 20 Academic Students from Class of 2025
Gianna Viola and Selhvin Galdamez Marquez Named Valedictorian and Salutatorian, Respectively
RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK (MARCH 2025)—Riverhead High School recently announced the top 20 academic students in the class of 2025. Gianna Viola is the valedictorian, and Selhvin Galdamez Marquez is the salutatorian.
“The district congratulates these students on their exceptional success and growth,” said Riverhead Central School District Interim Superintendent Cheryl Pedisich. “We are proud to have advanced their academic journeys and commend all that they have achieved in our schools and community. As bright futures lie ahead for these students, we look forward to continuing to support their remarkable endeavors following graduation.”
The academic ranking of students is determined by weighted GPA. More rigorous courses receive higher weighting. Non-regents and non-college electives courses are weighted 1.0, regents courses are weighted 1.04, honors courses are weighted 1.08, and AP and dual enrollment courses are weighted 1.18.
