Riverhead High School’s Adriana Martinez and Dillon Zaleski Receive NYS AHPERD Suffolk Zone Awards

Seniors Recognized for Achievement and Leadership in Health and Physical Education

RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK (JUNE 2026)—Riverhead High School seniors Adriana Martinez and Dillon Zaleski were recently named recipients of the 2025–2026 New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (NYS AHPERD) Suffolk Zone Awards. This annual award honors outstanding students who showcase leadership and excellence in health and physical education.

“As Blue Waves, Adriana and Dillon have demonstrated remarkable character, sportsmanship, and success,” said Riverhead Central School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Hagan. “The district proudly congratulates them on this accomplishment and looks forward to these cultivated values continuing to support them on their journeys.”

NYS AHPERD Suffolk Zone Awards student honorees are selected based on their physical fitness, citizenship, and leadership. Each year, one male student and one female student from every Suffolk County high school are recognized for this distinction.
