This year, Riverhead Middle School students in Amy Doucette’s family and consumer science class were assigned a new, engaging project during their child development unit where students worked collaboratively to design a children’s board game.
As part of the activity students had to select a children’s book, identify the theme of the book and then work together to create and design a children’s board game tying in the theme.
The students had to make sure the game taught an educational skill tied to child development while following a rubric.
