Roanoke Avenue Holds Inaugural Veterans Appreciation Walk
Roanoke Avenue Elementary School celebrated Veterans Day with its inaugural Veterans Appreciation Walk to honor local veterans, including staff members who served the country before serving the district. Students and staff decorated the school red, white, and blue, and music teacher Lily Kutner taught students a patriotic song to accompany a walk through the school. The event concluded with a reception in the cafeteria, where veterans were presented with signed posters expressing deep gratitude.
Veterans included Army Specialist 4 Barry Gilmore, U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Brian Dillon, U.S. Navy Yeoman 3rd Class-YN3 Susan Wagner, U.S. Navy SMSGT Erica Murphy, U.S. Marines LCPL Benjamin Payton, U.S. Navy Utilitiesman 2nd Class Mark Anasky, U.S. Army First Lieutenant Raheim Smith, U.S. Army PFC Infantryman Tucker Miller, U.S. Marines Corporal Daniel Young, U.S. Air Force SSGT Scott Jordan, and U.S. Army Specialist E-4 Walter Brown.
