Students at Pulaski Street Elementary School culminated a yearlong Riverhead Community Awareness Program anti-drug initiative through several in-class activities on May 27. The activities were held in lieu of the school’s annual “Say No to Drugs” rally and parade due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Wearing blue and white “Drug Free Body” shirts, Pulaski students met with middle and high school CAP peer leaders to learn more about life as a student in middle school and high school. The elementary schoolers also painted rocks, watched an inspirational video during a virtual assembly and were treated to an ice cream party.
Additionally, winners of Riverhead CAP’s “Dreams Come True with Healthy Decisions” poster contest were announced. The Riverhead School District congratulates fifth grader Katheryn Gutierrez Palacios and sixth grader Angelina Ramirez.
